Pinzón Tour
Pinzon is an island rich in marine fauna, here you have the opportunity to swim with white tip sharks better known as Tintoreras, sea turtles and sea lions. You must be very careful with the Alpha sea lion, try not to approach the sea lion colony if the Alpha is here, keep your distance and enjoy the place swimming with the blue sharks and sea turtles. You will surely be fascinated to swim with these animals in their natural environment.
How to get there?
This tour starts in Santa Cruz Island, the naturalist guide will pick you up at the hotel or they’ll let you know a meeting point.
Itinerary
In the morning you will go to the Gus Angermeyer pier where your naturalist guide or tour operator staff will be waiting for you. You will take a aquatic taxi and take the boat to Pinzon Island. Navigation time is 1:30 minutes to 2:30 minutes depending on the weather conditions.
First you will visit Penguin Bay, where you will do the first snorkeling to observe white tip sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, full fish, starfish and rays. It is a beautiful experience for snorkelers. In the cold season you will have the opportunity to swim with Galapagos penguins, considered unique in the world. Lunch on board the boat.
In the afternoon you will visit La Fe, a bay located on Santa Cruz Island where you will do snorkeling for observe baby Galapagos sharks, sea turtles and sea lions. To get to La Fe Bay you will swim a short distance from the boat. Once in the bay you can take a short walk to see marine iguanas near the mangroves sunbathing and sometimes you can see a colony of sea lions playing near the sand.
You can do experiential fishing, this activity can be at the beginning of the navigation or at the end of the day, the captain of the boat is an expert in fishing and will give the order to place the fishing rods, this activity is optional. Finally, we return to Puerto Ayora.
