Bartolome Islet
Bartolome is a unique and wonderful place to visit. Its geological composition will let you feel like you are in other planet, that is why it is the most demanded islet in Galapagos, if you book with us in advance, you will surely be able to visit Bartolome.
How to get there?
This tour starts in Santa Cruz Island, the naturalist guide will pick you up at the hotel or they’ll let you know a meeting point.
Itinerary
Your naturalist guide will pick you up in a bus to take you to the north of the island Santa Cruz until you reach the Itabaca Channel, the bus ride takes 45 minutes. Then, you take a boat that lasts approximately 2 hours to arrive to Bartolome Islet.
In Bartolome you will walk along the wooden trail that has a distance of 795 meters to the highest viewpoint. Along the way you will be able to observe volcanic cones, as well as its endemic vegetation. Once at the top of the viewpoint you will be able to enjoy one of the most incredible landscapes of all Galapagos, and observe its two beaches and the Pinnacle. Return to the boat for lunch.
In the afternoon you will visit Sullivan Bay for snorkeling accompanied by penguins, reef fish, marine turtles and others marine animals or you can simply enjoy the beach.
Important information
The tour starts early between 5:30 or 6:30 a.m. depending on which boat is on duty. Return between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Navigation time is 2 hours one way and 2 hours return.
