Santa Fe Island Tour
This island is ideal to do snorkeling in its beautiful crystal-clear waters. In this tourist site you have the opportunity to swim with sea turtles, a large number of reef fish and sea lions. In addition, you can see blue-footed boobies, brown noddies and frigate birds. The largest cacti in the entire archipelago grow on this island. Some specimens reach impressive sizes.
How to get there?
This tour starts in Santa Cruz Island, the naturalist guide will pick you up at the hotel or they’ll let you know a meeting point.
Itinerary
In the morning your naturalist guide or agency staff will pick you up at the hotel at 8:00 am. You will immediately go to the Gus Angermeyer pier, where you will take an aquatic taxi and then embark to the boat that will take you to Sante Fe Island. Navigation time is 45 minutes to 1:30 minutes depending on weather conditions.
Upon arrival at Santa Fe Island, you will take a panga ride to observe birds such as blue-footed boobies, brown noddies, swallow-tailed gulls, among others. Afterwards, the first snorkeling will take place near the Bottle where you will swim with school of colorful fish. Then you will visit a place called the Barranco, an ideal place to swim with sea lions. Lunch will be on board the boat. Lunch will be on board the boat.
In the afternoon, you will visit Playa Escondida located in Santa Cruz Island, it is a beautiful white sand beach where you can swim or just rest and relax. Fishing is done while sailing can be at the beginning of navigation at the end of the day, the captain of the boat is an expert in fishing and will give the order to place the fishing rods, this activity is optional. Finally, we return to Puerto Ayora.
